Excellence In Everything

  1. Safeguarding
  2. Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass

Fryent is an Operation Encompass Linked School

Operation Encompass is a police and education early information sharing partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support for children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. Information is shared by the police with a school's trained Key Adult (DSL) prior to the start of the next school day after officers have attended a domestic abuse incident thus enabling appropriate support to be given, dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child.

If you or anyone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, they follow steps can support you:

If you/they are in immediate danger, call 999 and ask for the police. If you can’t speak and are calling on a mobile press 55 to have your call transferred to the police. Find out how to call the police when you can’t speak.

For free, confidential advice, 24 hours a day contact a domestic abuse helpline.

If you would like to speak with our DSL please come and have a chat in school or contact Miss Quick at safeguarding@fryent.brent.sch.uk

Supporting Our Families Together
Safeguarding & Family Help at Fryent Primary School
In line with "Working Together to Safeguard Children" & Operation Encompass statutory guidance.

Our Core Promise

At Fryent Primary School, we believe that safeguarding is not just about reacting to problems-it is about supporting families early. We provide a safe, inclusive, and anti-discriminatory environment where every child and parent is treated with dignity, respect, and equality.

 FOUR PILLARS OF SUPPORT

  • Right Help, Right Time (Family Help)
We work directly with local multi-disciplinary teams to connect your family with housing, financial, or emotional support before challenges escalate.
  • Operation Encompass Partnership
We are a statutory Operation Encompass school. If police attend a domestic abuse incident linked to your household, we receive a secure, confidential notification before the next school day so we can wrap discrete support around your child.
  • Keeping Children Safe Online
We maintain a phone-free school environment during the day to protect your child from online harms, cyberbullying, and digital distractions, ensuring they can focus on learning.
  • Recognising Every Harm
Our staff are highly trained to spot hidden harms-including relationship pressures, coercive control, and community risks—acting as a protective shield for your child.

HOW WE CONFIDENTIALLY SUPPORT YOUR CHILD
What "Silent Support" Looks Like
If your family is going through a difficult time at home, we provide quiet, compassionate care at school without putting pressure on your child to talk. We ensure they have:
  • A trusted adult to check in on them during the day.
  • An experienced pastoral support team
  • A quiet space to rest if they are overwhelmed or tired.
  • Flexible support with uniform or school equipment if needed.
  • Free breakfast or snacks to start their day right.

If you are facing challenges at home, please reach out to us. We are here to help, not to judge.

  • Come to the Main Office and ask to speak to a member of the Safeguarding Team- Miss Quick is the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
